The wait for Google’s next affordable smartphone is almost over! If you've been eyeing the Pixel 9a, a fresh leak has finally given us a confirmed launch timeline. Unlike its predecessors, which typically arrived in May, Google seems to be pushing for an earlier release this year.
According to the latest reports, pre-orders for the Pixel 9a will kick off on March 19, with the device officially hitting stores and shipping out to customers starting March 26.
Pre-orders open: March 19, 2024Shipping & retail availability: March 26, 2024
This aligns with previous rumors suggesting an accelerated launch schedule for the Pixel 9a, possibly to stay competitive with Samsung’s Galaxy A-series and other mid-range rivals.
When it comes to pricing, Google is sticking to the $499 base price for the Pixel 9a (128GB), keeping it in line with last year’s Pixel 8a. However, the 256GB model will see a $40 price increase, bringing it to $599. Additionally, if you're buying Verizon's mmWave 5G version, expect to pay a $50 premium.

With the Tensor G4 chipset, the Pixel 9a is expected to offer better AI-powered photography, improved efficiency, and faster performance, making it a compelling option in the mid-range smartphone market.
