Cyclists have a powerful new gadget to add to their handlebars—and it does more than just light the road. Garmin has officially launched the Varia™ Vue, its first cycling headlight equipped with a built-in 4K front-facing camera, and it’s already turning heads.
Priced at $549.99, the Varia Vue is more than a visibility tool—it’s a full-fledged ride recorder, smart headlamp, and high-tech safety companion designed to capture every twist and turn of your journey. Whether you're riding through city streets or mountain trails, Garmin wants you to feel more protected, more seen, and more connected.
“With Varia Vue, cyclists can embark on rides knowing they're more likely to be seen on the road when using the headlight and are equipped with a high-resolution camera that can capture it all,” said Susan Lyman, Garmin’s Vice President of Consumer Sales and Marketing. “We’re thrilled to add another tool to Garmin’s unparalleled cycling lineup.”
The headline feature here is undoubtedly the integrated 4K camera, which records crystal-clear video with Electronic Image Stabilization to keep everything smooth—even if your ride isn’t. But the real kicker? If an incident is detected, Varia Vue automatically saves footage from before, during, and after the event.
Cyclists can review and edit their footage later using the Varia app, and if connected to Wi-Fi®, videos can even be auto-uploaded to Garmin Vault for secure storage (subscription required). While the memory card isn’t included, it’s a small add-on for peace of mind.
Part 2 coming up next, where we explore the smart lighting system, unique safety features, and why this high-tech headlight might just become a must-have for serious cyclists.
